Meet Coach James Moore
Coach Moore brings over 30 years of experience in athletic coaching and development. A black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, former college baseball player, and seasoned high school coach in baseball, football, and soccer, his training style blends competitive grit, strategic development, and a passion for helping athletes reach their full potential. From youth sports to elite-level conditioning — Coach Moore knows how to get results.

The Journey Behind the Vision

In March 2023, Coach Moore launched Roadhouse Jiujitsu Academy with a dream to offer high-level instruction and create a space where people of all backgrounds could train, grow, and belong. Before founding the academy, he spent 15 years traveling the country as a minister, teacher, and high school coach—learning from the best wherever he went, always with one goal in mind: becoming a jiujitsu black belt.

His jiujitsu journey began in 2010 under Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Marcello Monteiro in Beech Grove, Indiana. He later trained with UFC veteran Joe “Daddy” Stevenson and five-time world champion Marcello Mafra in Victorville, California, earning his purple belt from Stevenson in 2016. In 2017, he returned to Indiana and resumed training under Monteiro and Jon Correa, earning his brown belt in April 2022.

In 2025, after years of dedication and progression, Coach Moore was promoted to black belt under 2nd-degree black belt Francisco Davila—a milestone marking not just technical mastery, but a lifetime of commitment to the art.

Every Thursday at 4:30 PM, students are invited to join Roadhouse Prime — a high-level group training experience focused on sports conditioning, performance development, and athletic excellence.

Each athlete receives a tailored program built around their sport, needs, and personal goals. Whether you're preparing for competition, recovering from injury, or leveling up your game — Roadhouse Prime delivers.
